Jordan: I don't know, I'm really tired. Can we talk about it?
Alex: You're always tired. This is the third time you've bailed on my friends.
Jordan: That's not fair, I've been working really long hours lately.
Alex: Right, because your job is more important than our relationship.
Jordan: I never said that. You're putting words in my mouth.
Alex: I'm just telling you what I see. You clearly don't care about spending time with me.
Jordan: I do care. I just need some rest sometimes.
Alex: Whatever. Go to sleep then. I'll tell everyone you couldn't be bothered.
Jordan: Please don't do that. Can we figure out a compromise?
Alex: There's nothing to figure out. You made your choice.
Jordan: I didn't make any choice. You're being really unfair right now.
Alex: I'm unfair? You're the one who's always abandoning me.
Jordan: I've been at every family event, every birthday. I came to support you even when I was sick.
Alex: One time. Big deal. Most of the time you're useless.
Jordan: That's a horrible thing to say.
Alex: I'm just being honest. You can't handle the truth.
Jordan: This isn't honesty, this is cruelty.
Alex: Oh great, now I'm cruel. You're so dramatic.
Jordan: I'm going to need some space tonight.
Alex: Space. Of course. Run away like always.
Jordan: I'm not running. I'm protecting myself.
Alex: From what? Me? I'm your partner, not your enemy.
Jordan: The way you talk to me makes me feel like you are sometimes.
Alex: Then maybe you shouldn't be with me if I'm such a monster.
Jordan: I didn't say that. Please stop twisting my words.
Alex: I'm not twisting anything. You said I make you feel like an enemy.
Jordan: I said sometimes. When you talk to me like this.
Alex: I talk to you like this because you push me to it.
Jordan: How do I push you to it?
Alex: By never being there. By always choosing yourself over us.
Jordan: Alex, I need us to talk to each other better than this.
Alex: Talk to a therapist if you want to talk. I'm going to the party.
Jordan: Fine. Have fun.
